Fallout Boy – Young and Menace

Early last week, Fallout Boy drop a new track Young and Menace and announced a new album, MANIA, will be released in the summer. They also announced dates for an accompanying tour, but so far only in America.

Young and Menace continues the trajectory of FOB’s new sound from their last two albums, particularly American Beauty/American Physco. I really wasn’t a fan of this track when I first heard it, having been a big lover of Fallout Boy’s pre-hiatus stuff, but I’m warming to it every time I hear it. The track feels a lot more synth-rock, even synth-pop than pop-punk, but it’s definitely a track that brings something fresh to the band’s discography and proves just how versatile FOB can be.

Paramore – Hard Times

Paramore’s new release also came with the announcement for a new album, four years after their previous, self-titled album. After Laughter is set for the 12th of May.

This new track is an instant tune! It feels very Ain’t It Fun and the aesthetic is Still Into You meets 80’s pop. The song is fun and catchy and seems like it’s going to be a big hit, even in mainstream charts.

PVRIS – Heaven

PVRIS’s second album ‘We all know of Heaven, we all need of Hell’ is set to be released this August. The first single from the album, Heaven, was dropped earlier this week.

Heaven strikes the perfect balance between the sound still feeling recognizably PVRIS and feeling fresh. Lynn’s flawless vocals are the main feature of the track, but the beat and bass is extremely catchy. I think this song promises great things for their live performances.
